Turo Power Host: What It Actually Takes, and What Comes After

Illustration of a Turo Power Host's multi-car fleet: four charcoal cars parked in a row on a warm off-white ground, one of them picked out in green and angled toward an open road

If you run several cars on Turo, you have probably opened the Performance tab and asked: am I close, and what changes when I get there? Turo answers across two pages, and one of them leaves a requirement out. Below: the full list, the $36,000 bar per car, and what a Power Host does next, checked against Turo's pages on October 2, 2026.

The Current Turo Power Host Requirements

Turo's help center lists four requirements; meet them all and Turo may invite you in. Its host hub guide adds that status is reevaluated quarterly. Thresholds cover the past 365 days.

Turo Power Host and All-Star Host requirements
RequirementThreshold
Power Host requirements
All-Star Host statusHeld on the quarterly review date (the five checks below)
Vehicles with a completed trip4 or more, each with at least 1 completed trip; they need not be listed at the same time
Vehicles listed at evaluationAt least 1 on the review date
Earnings on Turo$36,000 or more
All-Star Host requirements
Overall 5-star rating85% or more of completed trips
5-star maintenance rating80% or more of completed trips
5-star cleanliness rating80% or more of completed trips
Cancellation rate3% or lower across all trips
Trip volume20 or more completed trips, or 80 trip days across 5 trips

All-Star Host on Turo runs on the same clock, checked quarterly against the trailing 365 days. The rates count every completed trip, unrated ones included; since October 2024, a skipped maintenance or cleanliness rating counts as five stars when the overall rating is five.

Cars can rotate. In Turo's own example, a host with a Toyota and a Ford adds a Honda, unlists the Ford, adds a Lexus, and still counts four vehicles, since each completed a trip in the window.

Turo Power Host Benefits: What You Actually Get

Turo's help center lists six perks:

One condition covers all six: the perks apply only while you actively maintain Power Host status, and the claims perks require status on the day you file.

What Power Host Status Actually Changes

Power Host adds support and perks on top of the business you already run. Three things stay put. Your commission still follows your protection plan, so the math on how much Turo takes from hosts holds. Your review cycle is still quarterly, so the perks last as long as the numbers do. And your channel is still one marketplace, under a program Turo reserves the right to update without prior notice.

Hosts who reach the tier describe the same days as before: cleaning, pickups and drop-offs, chasing claims. Being a Turo Power Host gets you faster help with that work, and the work stays on your calendar. If the daily load is the problem, see our guide to Turo fleet management.

The Math Behind the $36,000 Threshold

$36,000 over 365 days is $3,000 a month: $750 per car across the minimum four cars.

Turo's milestone guide supplies the comparison: Power Hosts typically add a second car once the first earns $850 a month, and most add a third and fourth at about $1,000 per car per month. Four cars at $1,000 is $48,000 a year, so a host on Turo's path clears the bar with room. The bar bites for fleets with idle weeks or seasonal gaps, and Turo itself notes some hosts need more than four vehicles to reach it.

One flag: $36,000 is earnings as Turo counts them, before insurance, cleaning, maintenance and financing. It is a revenue bar; profit is what remains after those costs.

What Comes After Power Host

Read the requirements as a job description: four or more cars kept booked, $36,000 a year, an 85% five-star rate, cancellations at 3% or lower. That is the discipline a direct-booking channel runs on. From helping run a direct-booking fleet in Hawaii, I know the work that fills your own calendar is the work that earns five stars. A Power Host already does it. The one piece someone else still owns is the customer relationship.

For scale, here are gross bookings across Turo and direct combined, for fleets managed on Zilarent. A 65-car Hawaii operator takes about $2,100 per car per month, the realistic average, priced low on purpose to run near full utilization. The ceiling is the Zilarent founder's own fleet of about 20 premium and luxury cars in Hawaii (Porsche and Corvette class), which takes direct bookings alongside Turo: close to $5,000 per car in peak months. Both are gross figures before financing, insurance, cleaning, maintenance and processing, and measure something different from the earnings Turo counts toward Power Host.

You can start without leaving Turo. Two-way Turo calendar sync stops a car listed in both places from double-booking, so you run both and shift the mix as direct proves itself. Keep the customers separate: Turo's terms bar completing a trip off the platform with a guest found on Turo, and its payment policy bars off-platform payment.

That is the core of taking your Turo business private, and the job our car rental software does for Turo hosts going private.

Common Questions

What are the current Turo Power Host requirements?

Four: All-Star Host status, four or more vehicles that each completed a trip in the past 365 days, one vehicle listed at evaluation, and $36,000 or more earned in the past 365 days. Check Turo's help center, since Turo can revise the program.

What is All-Star Host status, and why does it matter for Power Host?

It is Turo's tier for its highest-rated hosts, and the first Power Host requirement: an 85% overall five-star rate, 80% five-star maintenance and cleanliness rates, cancellations at 3% or lower, and 20 completed trips or 80 trip days across five trips.

What perks come with Turo Power Host status?

Host Success advice, seven-day support, a claims team that reviews within two to three business days, glass repair up to $100 and tire repair up to $200 per covered claim, financing partners, and early access to features and events.

Does Power Host status change how much Turo takes from a host?

No. Power Host is a perks tier. Turo's share of each trip still depends on the protection plan you choose, badge or no badge.

Can a Power Host also run a private, direct-booking channel at the same time?

Yes. Nothing in the requirements restricts it, and two-way Turo calendar sync prevents double-booking. Keep the customers separate, since Turo's terms bar taking a guest found on Turo off the platform. Zilarent sets this up for Turo hosts.

What happens if a Power Host's numbers slip below the thresholds?

Turo reevaluates status quarterly against the trailing 365 days. Perks apply only while status holds, and claims perks require it when you file. Meet the thresholds again to requalify at a later review.
